Slain Paterson Shooting Victim ID'd As Popular Street Vendor

Shock spread through Paterson following the news that a popular 62-year-old street vendor died on Tuesday May 7, two days after he was shot.

Police responding to Broadway and East 24th Street just after 10:20 a.m. Sunday, May 5 found Daryle Robinson suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. 

He was taken to St. Joseph's University Medical Center where he died, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia Valdes said.

The shooting happened about two blocks away from where Robinson sold movies, clothes, and CDs, according to a news report by ABC7.

Those who knew Robinson remembered him as an "honest, respectable, and loving" man.

"He showed me a whole new world of hustling legally and how to fend for myself," Terrance Tadow Clifton said. "Without question He quickly stepped into my world and became my Big Brother! And now he's gone!... I'm kinda broken Dee... I'm just sitting here flashing memories of every moment Kid and I'm kinda Broken! 🕊"

Andre Ruff said he and Robinson had recently arranged to go into business together.
